Col·lecció de la Impremta Guasp
At the Cartuja de Valldemossa monastery, visitors can see the old Guasp printing press and view the important collection of woodcuts preserved there.
The collection of 1,590 woodcuts for printing was declared a Site of Cultural Interest (BIC) in 2007 by the Consell de Mallorca and is one of the richest and best-preserved collections in Europe. They are considered a literary treasure because of their wide range of subjects (religious, geographical, historical, astrological, heraldic, etc.) and different types. Thanks to the long period of time during which the printing press was in use, there is also a wide time frame that is well represented.
