R2 Tramuntana
Set off from Sóller, a gorgeous town in the so-called Valley of Oranges, stopping at nearby treasures such as Biniaraix and Fornalutx. Head to the Mirador de ses Barques viewpoint, then ride through the Monnàber Tunnel and pass the military base on the slopes of Puig Major, the island's highest peak. Ride downhill to the Cúber and Gorg Blau reservoirs in the Almallutx Valley, where you'll come across a viewpoint over the water before the second tunnel. Then descend towards Sa Calobra, delighting in its curves and scenery. At the bottom is the Torrent de Pareis beach, a visual showpiece nestled among the mountains. Then head towards the Santuario de Lluc, Mallorca's sacred shrine. Afterwards, ride down towards Pollença and Port de Pollença. Head to Formentor and its lighthouse, stopping off at the Mirador del Colomer viewpoint and Formentor Beach. Continue past more secluded coves with the Formentor Lighthouse on the horizon. The route zigzags between cliffs until reaching the impressive precipice that is home to the iconic nineteenth-century tower, rounding off a once-in-a-lifetime motorbike experience.
