With the tourist boom in the 1960s, Mallorca adopted Spanish tapas, which later evolved into a culinary variety known as 'Variat'. This dish, one of the most popular local tapas, combines meats, fish, fried foods and stews in an attractive presentation. This circular route from Sineu explores rural Mallorca, stopping at villages such as Costitx, Sencelles and Algaida, each with its own traditional allure. Points of interest include Puig de Randa and Petra, the hometown of Fray Junípero Serra, with monuments and museums that tell this missionary's story. Passing through Santa Margalida, the route continues via Muro and Llubí, which are chiefly farming villages, and ends in Sineu.
