Mallorca has two ports intended for passenger traffic: the port of Palma, the main island, and the port of Alcúdia. Three companies currently connect Mallorca to other Spanish ports (Barcelona, Valencia and Denia) and to the other Balearic Islands (Menorca, Ibiza and Formentera). It is also possible to reach our island by sea from France (Toulon).

PORT OF PALMA

Palma is connected to Barcelona, Valencia and Denia. The journey to the peninsula lasts between 6 and 8 hours depending on the destination and the type of vessel.

It is also possible to travel to other ports in the Balearic archipelago. Mahón (Menorca) is about 5 and a half hours away by ferry. The boat to Ibiza takes about 4 hours and by ferry only two.

TRANSPORT FROM THE PORT

The city centre is located approximately 4 kilometres from the passenger port. To get there there are several possibilities:

Bus: line number 1.

Walk/bicycle: although fairly long (45 minutes walking), this is a pleasant route along a beautiful promenade. You can also make this journey on the bike path.

Citysightseening: The tourist bus has a stop at the Maritime Station and allows you to explore the city with ease.

Taxis: in front of the Maritime Station there is a taxi rank. In addition to the regular service, customised excursions are also offered.

Rent a car: There is a car hire company in the Maritime Station.

PORT OF ALCÚDIA

The Port of Alcúdia is located on the north coast of the island of Mallorca in a bay of the same name. It is a popular place for many Mallorcans and one of the busiest tourist areas.

The maritime station is located close to the main promenade that runs along the pier and has bars and restaurants with access to an extensive beach of fine sand. Alcúdia’s historic centre is located approximately 3 kilometres from the port.

From here, you can take ferries to Ciutadella (Menorca). The journey takes between 1 and 4 hours, depending on the type of vessel.

In the high season, Alcúdia also connects with the south of France (Toulon), which takes about 12 hours.

This port also receives small cruise ships.
