Senderisme a Mallorca

Trekking

Hiking offers the chance to discover Mallorca’s traditional way of life, its natural surroundings and its cultural heritage. The Tramontana mountain range is the most popular area among hikers. Some protected natural areas, such as the Llevant Peninsula Natural Park, have signposted trails. Ancient pilgrimage routes lead to monasteries and chapels.

The Consell de Mallorca promotes the Camins de pedra website, where you can find all the information you need for hiking.

In Mallorca, you can enjoy three different Long-Distance Trails, known by the acronym GR. These trails guarantee safety, maintenance and information for hikers.

  • GR 221 - Dry Stone Route: The main route connects Andratx with Pollença, and runs through the Serra de Tramuntana from end to end. It is characterised by its cobbled paths, terraced landscapes and olive groves, and spectacular sea views.
  • GR 222 - Artà-Lluc: This trail connects the Llevant Peninsula Natural Park in Artà with the monastery of Lluc, situated in the heart of the Serra de Tramuntana. It offers a different perspective of the island, with a wide variety of landscapes and villages.
  • GR 226 - East Mallorca: A route that runs through the north-east of Mallorca, perfectly combining the historical heritage of the various municipalities with nature and coastal paths.
