Flavors of the land

Two food products are emblematic symbols of Mallorca, and fundamental when it comes to identifying the island in the rest of the world: ensaimada and sobrasada. But they are not the only nor the best. Olive, almond groves and vineyards dominate part of the landscape of the island and the production of virgin olive oil, almonds and wine are internationally recognized. Also Mallorcan food is considered of extraordinary quality. Hence some products have a designation of origin or quality protection.
